The Mikulski Archive for Space Telescopes (MAST) holds data from the Hubble Space Telescope and over a dozen other space telescope missions—soon the James Webb Space Telescope. Our scientific data is free to the public and is used by astronomers around the world. At MAST, we strive to make our data easily accessible and maximize its scientific productivity. MAST is part of the Space Telescope Science Institute.
Your Role: MAST data is accessed by scientists through several websites. Astronomical data is complex, so we aim to make the user experience—discovery and exploration of data—as simple as possible. You will be working with the MAST UX designer to identify, plan, and execute a project that improves one of MAST's search interfaces or studies MAST user preferences.
