COVID-19 UPDATE

Return to office: The near-term return to the office is in effect for those who wish to do so. A hybrid presence is planned for 2022. The safety of our staff and community is our top priority. We will continue to interview and screen candidates in this new virtual landscape. Offers of employment can be extended and new hires will onboard virtually. Employees are required to be residents in the Baltimore-Washington area within a limited time from their start date.*

Effective September 1, 2021, STScI has a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination requirement for all employees working onsite or from home (telework). Exceptions to the vaccination requirement may be granted in for documented medical or religious reasons.

Effective February 11, 2022, Staff who become eligible for booster vaccinations will have 30 days after their eligibility date to upload proof of the booster vaccination in Ultipro. Staff who have approved medical or religious exemptions need to take no additional action.
