Next TESS Data Expected:  Sector 14 reprocessing

Likely Date to Start Ingest:

Data Ingest to MAST Archive

Because the time to process a TESS sector is not the same each sector, TESS data do not arrive at a perfectly regular cadence.  MAST will post the date of the next data ingest on this page once it is known, usually 1 day before ingest begins.

After the data are delivered to the archive, ingest begins. One sector of TESS data takes approximately 20 hours to archive and make available in the MAST Portal.  Since data become available immediately after being archived, during this ingest process the data gradually appear in the MAST portal and astroquery searches.  After all data are archived, MAST services such as the bulk downloads, TESScut, and exo.MAST take another 1-2 days to bring online.  See the flow chart below for a typical timeline for the ingest of TESS data.

How to be notified of new data

@MAST_News will announce via twitter when the data has started being ingested each sector.  Users can also watch this page* to receive an email when this page is updated as various MAST services come online after a sector of data is ingested.

*To watch the page, log-in using the arrow icon on the right and their MyST account. Then click on the 'watch' eye icon. Emails will come to the account associated with your MyST account. To obtain a MyST account, go to https://proper.stsci.edu/proper/authentication/auth.

Previous Notes

From  : Sectors 20 and 21 will be replaced with newly exported data files starting .  While the ingest is taking place, the data files will be a disparate set of both the original and the new files.   Once the ingest is complete the check boxes in the data holdings table below will be replaced with 'v2'.

The reasons for this re-delivery include changing how the data quality flags for stray and scattered light are set. It also includes a correction to the time and to the FFI collateral pixels.  For more information, see the 'Memo' listed next to the data release notes for DRN27 and DRN29. It also includes information on how one can tell the difference between the
