Component Overview

The 'ULLYSES Search Parameter Components' section contains the the common search parameters for the ULLYSES HLSP data collection. This page overviews the types of search components and how to specify parameter constraints.

Filtering data will return targets that include the selected criteria, but are not limited to those criteria. For example, filtering by 'Telescope=FUSE' will return targets that include FUSE data and data from other telescopes

 Parameter Constraint Syntax

Learn how to specify constraints on search parameters depending on the nature of the input. The following specifications apply for the core search parameters and Additional Search Parameters in the search form.

Hovering over each filter box shows tooltips on how to use search conditions.

ULLYSES Search Parameter Components

Telescope

By default, all 'Telescope' options are selected.  Toggle the check boxes to select and/or deselect the Telescope selections.

HST Instruments

By default, all 'HST Instrument' options are selected.  Toggle the check boxes to select and/or deselect the Telescope selections.

If HST is deselected in the Telescope component, the options for this component will be disabled and not included in the filter.

Target Type

By default, all 'Target Type' options are selected.  Toggle the check boxes to select and/or deselect the Target Type selections.

HLSP Type

By default, all 'HLSP Type' options are selected.  Toggle the check boxes to select and/or deselect the HLSP Type selections.

Spectral Element

Example of a type-ahead search result for Filters/Gratings that start with 'G1'.

Example of 3 filter/grating entries: an exact match of FUSE/LWRS, a wildcard search on G*, and an exclusion of G130M.

The 'Spectral Element' refers to filters, gratings, both, or combination filter sets depending on the data collection.

This component is displayed for multiple missions.  Please refer to the Spectral Element component documentation for more information.

Spectral Band

By default, all 'Wavelength' options are selected.  Toggle the check boxes to select and/or deselect the Wavelength selections.

Observed Date

The 'Observed Date' Component is a DateTime field.

To constrain data by Date and/or Time, use the format: yyyy-mm-dd in the 'Obs Start Date' field and hh:mm:ss in the 'Time' field. Note the 'Time' field is not required.

This component is displayed for multiple missions.  Please refer to the Observed Date component documentation for more information.
